Identifying Textual Evidence for Themes in "All Summer in a Day"

Now that we've practiced citing textual evidence, let's focus on identifying evidence that supports the main themes in the story. For each theme, find at least two pieces of evidence from the text and explain how they relate to the theme.

1. Bullying

Look for instances where characters are treated cruelly or unfairly.

2. Isolation

Consider how characters might feel alone or separated from others.

3. The Power of Nature

Look for descriptions of the environment and its effects on the characters.

4. The Impact of Environment on Behavior

Think about how the setting influences the characters' actions or feelings.
