Daydreaming: Exploring Our Inner Worlds
Activity: Daydream Discussion Circles
- Silent Reflection: Spend a few minutes reflecting on:
- What is a daydream you've had recently?
- How did it feel to daydream? What were you escaping from or hoping for?
- Structured Small Groups: Form groups of 3-4 students. Assign roles:
- Facilitator: Guides the discussion.
- Note-Taker: Writes down key points.
- Timekeeper: Ensures equal speaking time.
- Group Sharing (Optional): Sharing is optional. If comfortable, discuss:
- What motivated your daydream?
- What emotions were involved?
- Guided Discussion Questions: Discuss as a group:
- What common themes did you notice?
- How can daydreaming help us cope with challenges?
- Class Reflection: Share one key insight from each group.
- Connect to "Walter Mitty": Discuss how Walter uses daydreams.
